Amy Moffat Pilates Reformer Mat Fix East London

Pilates: Reformer & Mat

1-1 & Duet

From £42.50 - £82 pp

Using the equipment on offer in Pilates, including the famous Reformer, the Trapeze, Wunda Chair & Ladder Barrel, is a great way to assist the body in finding alignment, improving movement & developing control & strength.

Not only can the equipment assist us through injury rehab, it's also a fantastic way to challenge the body, making Pilates equipment classes versatile & accessible to all levels of movers.

Pilates Mat classes are equally accessible & the repertoire of exercises offer a great way becoming self sufficient in developing mobility, stability, & control. Sometimes I'll introduce Pilates props for assistance, or to add challenge where needed.

I teach 1-1 & duet classes at Fix, East Village in Stratford, using the range of equipment in the well-equipped studio, to best suit each individual's needs.

If you're interested in duets, you'll need to find your partner-in-Pilates who ideally will be at a similar fitness level to you.

I feel more spacious, aligned & taller after sessions with Amy. I’ve noticed I no longer have pain like I used to when sitting at my desk all day.

TMJ Massage

£72 | £82 | £119 (45mins | 60mins | 90mins)

TMJ dysfunction, sometimes referred to as TMD, is an umbrella term for a range of symptoms relating to problems with the jaw, aka the Temporomandibular Joint.

TMD affects one in four of us, with symptoms including:

  • Tenderness in the joint on touch or movement

  • Pain when chewing food

  • Bruxism (grinding of the teeth)

  • Limited range of movement in TMJ & neck

  • Headaches &/or Migraines

  • Tinnitus or undiagnosed ear pain

  • Undiagnosed toothache

  • Tight neck & shoulders

  • Clicking or crepitus in the joint

Massage Therapists are usually the last point of call for TMJ sufferers, after the orthodontist &/or doctor, but there are so many great massage techniques that can be used to treat TMD symptoms - & causes - easily & effectively.

We begin with a consultation & assessment of the jaw & posture, in order to understand what potential soft tissue restrictions, structural imbalances &/or environmental and lifestyle factors, are influencing your TMD symptoms.

During the treatment I utilise soft tissue massage, trigger point therapy & myofascial release to remove restrictions in the tissues & bring functionality back to the body.

Many clients have reported significant progress after 4-5 successive weekly appointments, some feeling relief after the first session. 90mins for a first appointment is recommended but not essential.

TMJ massage with Amy has helped me overcome recurring headaches & release my achy jaw. My sleep has improved & headaches are now rare. I can happily recommend her!

Myofascial Release

£72 | £82 | £119 (45mins | 60mins | 90mins)

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a great option for those looking to treat postural tensions or support injury recovery.

Using MFR, as well as some traditional deep tissue techniques & trigger point therapy, I’ll help you towards achievable goals such as improving mobility & reducing muscular tension & pain.

As well as working remedially I really believe in the power of relaxation, creating a welcoming & cosy environment in which to be treated. As a result, my treatments aim for a balance between remedial & relaxation because calming the nervous system has a positive affect on muscle & fascial  tissue function, so the two go hand in hand.

I’ve had great success treating issues including:

  • Headaches

  • Tight & restricted neck & shoulders

  • Spinal stiffness

  • Lower back & hip pain

  • ITB syndrome

  • Plantar Fasciitis

  • Post Surgery Scar Tissue

Amy is extremely professional, approachable & has really helped with my neck & upper back issues following surgery.
